Our Vision
To be so grounded in God’s Word and growing in obedience, that all who know us will be compelled to know Jesus and make Him known.
We are a church that is big on Jesus, big on the Bible and big on gathering with one another. The word ‘Evangelical’ simply means Gospel centered. The Gospel is God’s good news about Jesus, which is what the Bible is all about. The Bible is God’s word and is the basis of our ministry. God works through his word (the Bible) by His Spirit building us up and setting the agenda for everything we do. The Bible is Christ centered and so we seek to honour Jesus by calling people to repentance and faith in Him. SEC is a gathering of God’s people committed to taking His message, with His help, to the town of Singleton and beyond. If you are reading this and looking for a church built on preaching about Jesus Christ and his impact on our lives then come and join us one morning. We think you will be pleasantly surprised and encouraged to put your hope in Jesus for life now and the joys of life to come |
Our HistoryIn 2005 four families who lived in the Singleton area and attended Maitland Evangelical Church had the desire to start a church in Singleton.
After much prayer and wise counsel, SEC began meeting in October 2005 with the four families and friends meeting monthly in the hope of establishing a weekly meeting around the teaching of the Bible. We are now some fifteen to twenty families enjoying regular Sunday meetings. |
Our PastorScott Mackenzie has been a pastor for well over a decade after studying theology at Moore Theological College, previously completing a Science degree at UNSW. He was inducted as the first full-time pastor of SEC on 2nd August, 2009.
Scott is married to Wendy and they have four children: Jayden, Talia, Eliza & Elliott. Scott enjoys mountain bike riding, pottering about in the garden, playing with his children, watching movies with his wife, and taking the family on holidays & Saturday outings. |
